CO<sub>2</sub> methanation reaction over Ni-supported CaO catalyst

In recent years, global warming issues due to the increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration triggered by use of fossil fuels have become even more serious. Therefore, methanation CO2 has been considered, e.g. Sabatier reaction. This reaction requires catalysts such as Ni, and development capable producing methane with high efficiency is required. our previous studies, it reported that possible ball-milling LaNi5 under + H2 atmosphere. Furthermore, resulted a complex structure Ni / La oxide carbonates on nanoscale, suggesting catalytic activity at metal/oxide interface. suggests effective catalyst production. this study, we attempted prepare composite powder which supported CaO, an inexpensive easily-reacting CO2, investigated its potential catalyst. Our results revealed occurs using Ni/CaO composite, while higher was observed case Ni/CaCO3 composite.
